The Arkansas Sharpeners Small Whetstone is a compact natural Arkansas stone measuring 3 x 1.13 x 0.25 in. It is small enough for a pocket, tackle box or hunting pack. Use it for quick edge touch-ups when a full bench stone is not practical.
Natural Arkansas stones are traditionally used with a light honing oil, which floats metal particles off the surface. Hold a steady angle and stroke the blade across the stone from heel to tip. A few passes bring a dull pocket knife back to a working edge.
A plastic storage box keeps the stone protected and clean between uses. It also works well on fish hooks, arrowheads and small tools. Find more choices in our sharpeners.
