eTrex 22x and eTrex 32x are the AA-powered workhorses of the eTrex family. Both run about 25 hours on a pair of AA cells, carry 8 GB of memory for maps and waypoints, and use a 2.2-inch sunlight-readable colour display behind an acrylic lens.
The difference between the two is the sensor package. eTrex 32x adds a barometric altimeter for elevation profiles and a three-axis compass that holds a heading while you are standing still, which is the reason most people step up from the 22x. Choose Yes on the Altimeter and Compass option for the 32x, or No for the 22x.
Both models are IPX7 rated, accept additional mapping over mini USB, and are geocaching-friendly out of the box.
