Red is the bold color choice for the 4 ft Megaware KeelGuard, made to match red hulls and red bottom paint. It is sized for fiberglass boats up to about 14 ft. The protector guards the keel where it meets ramps, rocks, and beaches.
A worn-through keel lets water into the laminate, and that turns into a structural repair. KeelGuard prevents it with a tough strip of polymers and urethanes bonded over the gelcoat. Its UV stabilization helps the red color hold up in the sun.
Installation is do-it-yourself with 3M acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive, and careful surface prep is the key to a lasting bond. The strip is 5 in wide and made in the USA. Browse more Keel Protectors for other colors.
