The Nite Ize Radiant 400 is a rechargeable LED lantern measuring 7.5 by 3.25 inches, giving 400 lumens on high with a clip.
Six hours and twenty minutes at 400 lumens against 22 hours at 200 is the useful comparison. Halving the output more than triples the runtime, which is how a lantern lasts a weekend rather than a night. Most camp lighting happens well below maximum, and the medium setting is where a lantern actually lives.
The clip is what separates a lantern from a light. It hangs from a tent loop, a branch or a pack strap so light comes from above rather than sitting on a surface casting shadows upward. It is rechargeable rather than eating batteries, and both water and impact resistant. Explore more lanterns.
