The Ritchie B-51 Explorer is a bracket-mounted compass built around a 2 3/4-inch direct-reading dial, easy to read at a glance without the CombiDial-style secondary scale some Ritchie compasses use.
The bracket mount is adjustable and removable with thumbscrews, so the compass can be repositioned or pulled entirely for storage between trips. Internal green night illumination lights the dial, and built-in compensators handle local deviation adjustment without extra hardware.
A scientifically matched sapphire jewel and hardened steel pivot keep the movement smooth, backed by powerful DirectiveForce magnets for a fast heading lock. High-temperature composite construction and a movable sun shield round out a compass that’s 100% repairable and covered by Ritchie’s exclusive 5-year warranty, in black.
