The Streamlight ProTac HPL USB is a 1,000 lumen flashlight in black with a USB rechargeable battery.
HPL stands for high performance lumens, and it refers to the reflector rather than the output. A deep parabolic reflector concentrates 1,000 lumens into a long throwing beam rather than a wide flood. For searching across a field, a yard or water, that reach matters more than the lumen figure suggests.
The ProTac line uses Ten-Tap programming, which sets the tail switch to high then strobe, high only, or low then medium then high depending on what the user actually wants. It runs on a USB rechargeable battery, and ProTac lights also accept CR123A primaries as a backup where a charge is not available. Explore more handheld flashlights.
