The Veratron wind sensor measures wind speed and direction and sends both over an NMEA 2000 network. It is an AcquaLink-type sensor that shares its data with any compatible display aboard. One sensor feeds wind data to gauges and multifunction displays at the same time.
A wind vane turns to follow the wind direction, and wind cups spin with the wind speed. Inside, a Hall-effect sensor and cross coils turn that movement into an electrical signal. That proven mechanical design gives reliable readings in marine conditions.
Mount it high on a mast, arch or T-top where the wind is clean and away from obstructions. Plug it into your NMEA 2000 backbone with a standard drop cable. Wind data helps with sailing, anchoring and deciding when to head in. Compare it with the rest of our weather monitoring.
